Ashtanga
yoga is a slow and deep process of cleansing the body. By moving the muscles and Ki Meridians
in a regular/daily pattern the internal organs over time are made to function
properly. When the organs function
properly then distracting aches and pains and other symptoms of sickness don’t
occur. Ultimately this allows our
minds to be still, and not distracted.
“Yoga is the process of stilling the mind”

Mysore:
Teaches the discipline of the Ashtanga series in small manageable steps. Unlike a Led class where the pace, and
length is the same for the whole group in Mysore the student learns
individually. A new student can
expect to practice a daily half hour to forty-minute practice. Practicing three to six days an week is
expected. Practice can start any time within the Mysore time
schedule (at least an hour before Mysore is scheduled to end). When the student remembers and has a
proficiency in what he has learned, then he is taught the next posture. All the while as the students body
shifts and changes (i.e. muscles relaxing, learning to breath correctly) the
teacher adjusts the previous postures. Depending on may factors the student
learns more and more of the practice.
The practice becomes longer and longer until its about an hour and a
half.
